Being an Upwinder

We are obsessed with customer satisfaction

We genuinely care about our customers.

We think long term. We don’t sacrifice long-term value & relationships over short term outcomes.

Every interaction with us, from our first meeting, to the web site, our marketing, the purchase experience, and to support & back-office help, should exceed customers’ expectations and reinforce their decision to trust & partner with Upwind.

We start with the customer and work backwards

We work with our customers to find their biggest pains and work our way backwards to design solutions that meet their needs.

We strive to translate often vague or high-level requirements and feedback into simple, innovative products & features.

We value speed

We make decisions with speed, and acknowledge that many decisions are reversible.

We fail fast. We are not too proud or afraid to change direction. Failure is an integral part of innovation & success.

We have a bias for action and we take risks despite ambiguity.

Speed matters in business.

We strive for simplicity

We always find ways to simplify.

We do not overcomplicate processes & tasks.

Customers want simple products, simple experiences, simple mechanisms & simple processes.

We communicate efficiently

We believe in timely communication & constructive feedback with each other.

We strive to proactively escalate and provide updates.

We are owners

We stay connected to the details.

We get the job done, we don’t assume that someone else will do it.

We take responsibility when things aren’t going right.

We never say “It’s not my job”. No task is beneath us.

We are resourceful

We create our own reality.

We accomplish more with less.

We insist on high standards and remain committed to our long-term vision, but are also pragmatic on how we will get there.

We make it work, and then we make it better.
